How do I restore a EMachine to factory setting ?

By FutureGrowthUSA ·
I have a EMachine, with XP Professinal that I need to return to factory setting. On the system restore it doesn't give an option for total system recovery & I need help. Is their a site I can download a disc at or a site or solution that you can give me. It would be greatly appreciated!

Couple of options

by robo_dev In reply to How do I restore a EMachi ...

First of all, if you goto the Emachines website to determine if your PC has a 'recovery partition' or not. Not sure what model you have.

If there is a recovery partition, then relaoding the OS is typically invoked by something like CTRL-F11 at bootup.

If there is no recovery partition, then there are two options:

1) CDs from emachines that reload OS (shipped with machine, typically can be purchased from manufacturer or downloaded from their website).

2) CD Rom of you chosen OS. Such that you just boot from whatever Ubuntu, windows, or even MS-DOS install media and reformat/load the OS. Might need to gather the relevant network/video/sound drivers for each OS (these would typically be included with the other two options).
