How do I Update Live Reg ?

By belpact ·
LiveUpdate was successful but a message stated that my programs are not up to date.
It stated for me to do Live Reg a lot of times until I see their are no more.
I restarted my computer for the LiveUpdate to be completed.
I clicked on the NAV Icon by the clock again and clicked the Update button. Tried to only highlight Live Reg in the window but it didn't allow me.
I hit next hoping only the Live Reg would be mentioned on the next screen.
Instead, it said no updates available.

How do Iupdate the Live Reg separately?

browse to www.symantec.com and download virus definitions for your version of Norton Anti Virus. You should also be able to update the program if you have a legally licensed version. Sometimes the best way is to uninstall the whole program andreboot and then reinstall.

I had a similar problem, only that when my system tried to do the LiveUpdate, it would timeout on the download. I use a dialup connection. The way I finally worked around my problem was to launch LU and after it has connected to the Norton server,a list of available updates should show up.

If your program is not listed, you are up-to-date. If you get a list, select them one-by-one until all of your programs are up-to-date. The downside to this, is A LOT of reboots! Hope this helps at least a little.

Downloaded Update from Symantec homepage. When completed it stated that the updates were for DOS, W3.x, W9x & W NT.
Mine is W98 Second Edition. Is mine included in W9x?
