How do you make results of formulas in Excel blink?

By emgf_caf ·
I am making a data analysis and I want that if the results do not fit the criteria, the result shall blink. For example, in the Statement of Income and Expenses, if the result is a loss, the amount shall blink. Thank you.

At least in Excel 2007 and earlier, you don't have this

I haven't seen Office 2010, so I don't know if such a feature is included there.

Possible workarounds:
-Display the results in Word or Powerpoint, where many special effects have been around for several versions.
-Write a macro that will change the cells background color every second.
-Create a blinking GIF-image on the fly with the needed text and place it on your excel sheet.
-Just change background color. (can be done with conditional formatting if your Excel ain't too old) (But, if the reason you want blinking text is because your whole sheet looks like a Christmas tree, then this may not be enough...)
