That’s going to depend on the specific hardware involved. If you’re talking about a Compaq server with RAID controller, you would use the array configuration utility after booting from the SmartStart CD (or I believe you can also access it from theSystem Partition if you press F10 while booting).
For other RAID controllers, you’ll need to dig up the appropriate utilities and documentation or obtain it from the RAID manufacturer’s Web site.
If you can bring the RAID system back up, the data might be intact, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Sorry it didn’t help besides the way I setup the raid was fine.. i’ts just that NT messed it up for some reason.. so i had to call up NT’s tech support and was with them for about 8hrs.. at the end this person guided me thru, where I had to HEX editthe Boot Sector. But thanks for your help.

Some (maybe all, but not sure) RAID controllers will allow you configure RAID during the boot process. It will appear as a message to go into the SCSI controller setup, or something similar. Once in there, you can create and delete RAID setups.
If you have hardware RAID set up, then you don’t necessarily need to get into the OS to see the data. If it happens to be a setup on an NT server with NTFS partitions, then you may just need to treat your recovery just like any NT server recovery. You can attempt to install a parallel installation of NT so you can see your data, and maybe replace corrupt files.
Hope this helps.

Additional information would be useful but I can hopefully give you some guidance>
1. If your HW RAID controller failed, you could recover by replacing the failed controller with a new one (same make/model). The new controller should read the RAID config from the drives and function fine.
2. If you have single-HDD failure, you should be able to recover by replacing the failed drive. This fix assumes you are not running RAID 0 (striping w/o parity)
3. If your OS is trashed, try a parallel OS install onto the array. You will need the array controller drivers if not supported “natively” by the OS.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Basically if you didn’t save the configuration somewhere or write it down, you will have to recreate it exactly the same way as it was before and then you will not lose any data, but do not create a new configuration otherwise it will just wipe out all the info from your hard drive
Be very careful when you follow the menus on the RAid controller configuration because if click the wrong option you will lose all the info and your data will be gone, so read the documentation b4 or get professional help
Good luck
