How do you update your clients?

I’d like to know of the methods different IT departments at varying size companies use to “push” updates to their clients.

In other words, how do you ensure all your clients have all the latest critical updates, patches, or say even the latest feature set that was released as an “add-on”.

Also, to save me another post, what’s a preferred Proxy Server alternative to MS Proxy 2.0? Or should I stick with MS Proxy? (I’ll be honest, I really am not up to speed at all on Proxy Servers).

Thanks.

PS. If you wonder all my questions as of late…I’m in the process of re-vamping (or at least ATTEMPTING to) our IT/MIS infrastructure more or less. I’ve done some testing/research on my own and my results indicated some areas that are weak and need serious attention. Our current system works, but it should be more efficient by far and where some areas are secure other areas are wide open.

Anyway, thanks for your valuable input.
