I've been all over Dell's site, and could not find any details.

Your best option is to go to the upgrades section, and enter the system number. That will give you a list of "Dell supported" upgrades.

With the 430TX chipset, and UDMA 33 support, I suspect that it will support the 20GB drive.

If not, I would install a seperate ATA100 IDE controller card. Not only will you get support for the larger drive, You will tripple the data transfer speed over that of the on-board IDE controller.

What OS are you running?
If W95, only release "C" had fat 32 support. The older versions are limited to 2.1GB partitions. So, your 20GB drive would need to be divided into 10 drives (C-L) to use all the space.

I appreciate the extra effort/research you performed. Boosted the points as thanks. I visited Dell as well came up empty. Largest drive shipped was 6.4 gig with sys. The "AHA!" happened when you informed me of the add-on controller! I didn't know they could /would do that! Many thanks, Ty
