That depends on what you call a page. Say that amazon sells 1 million different products. Are that 1 million different pages, or is it just 1 page that is dynamically filled with the data of the right product?

I think about 50,000 pages would be good.

On a serious note, that is an impossible question to answer. It all depends what you want to sell and how many products you are offering. There is no single answer that fits all. Generally, keeping your web site clean and easy is the best answer. I will avoid internet sites that make it difficult to find products or navigate easily.

The number of pages an eCommerce website should have depends on the size and scope of the business. Generally, a small-scale eCommerce website should include at least six to eight pages, including a Home page, About page, Contact page, Shopping Cart page, Product/Service page, and Checkout page. These core pages are essential for providing customers with information about the business and allowing them to make purchases.
For larger businesses that offer more products or services, additional pages may be necessary. For example, you may want to create separate product/service pages for each category or add an FAQs page to provide customers with answers to common questions. Additionally, you may need to add a Shipping & Returns policy page or other informational pages related to your specific industry.
Ultimately, the key is to ensure that all essential information is easily accessible on your website so that customers can find what they need quickly and efficiently.

The number of pages on an eCommerce website can vary depending on the specific needs and goals of the business. However, there are some common pages that are typically found on most eCommerce websites. Here are a few essential pages:

Homepage: This is the main entry point to your eCommerce website, where visitors can get an overview of your brand, products, and promotions.

Product Listings: These pages display your products or services, typically organized into categories or sections to help visitors browse and find what they’re looking for.

Product Detail Pages: Each product should have its own dedicated page that provides detailed information, images, pricing, and an “Add to Cart” or “Buy Now” button.

Shopping Cart: This page displays the selected products, quantities, and pricing. Customers can review and modify their order before proceeding to checkout.

Checkout: This page is where customers provide their shipping, billing, and payment information to complete their purchase.

Order Confirmation: After a successful purchase, a confirmation page is displayed to thank the customer, provide an order summary, and any relevant details such as order number and estimated delivery date.

About Us: This page shares information about your company, brand story, mission, and values. It helps build trust and establishes a connection with your customers.

Contact Us: This page provides contact information, such as email, phone number, and possibly a contact form, allowing customers to get in touch with any inquiries or support needs.

FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can help address common customer queries and provide self-service options, reducing the need for direct support.

Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Return Policy: These pages outline important legal and policy information that customers should be aware of when making a purchase.

Remember that the number of pages may vary depending on the complexity and scale of your eCommerce website. It’s also important to focus on creating a user-friendly and intuitive navigation structure to help visitors easily find the information and products they are looking for.
