How my network places come to know which one terminal is conncected or not

Hi, I want to know that Is there something special programming style to access the contents of my network places in the application, I am facing big problem to access the contents of network places while working in a project using vb 6.0, and I want to write the contents of network places in listbox automatically when I click on a command button. tell me the correct way please…….
