How to Abstract Data from AS400 to SQL

I'm not familiar with SQL databases but quite familiar with DB2/400. If you can populate an SQL database from Microsoft Access, for example, you could create an ODBC connection to the AS/400 and import data into Access and then export to SQL. The AS/400 has a command called CPYTOIMPF that will allow you to copy an AS/400 file to a PC-type file specifying various delimeters. Do you know if you have Client Access on your PC? Client Access also gives you methods of transferring data from/to DB2/400. We use a tool from Advanced System Concepts called Sequel that allows us to read in a DB2/400 file and output it to various PC formats including dbase, comma delimited, .xls, etc. That's all I can think of right now.
