how to activate audio speakers on HP dx2290

i've got hp dx2290 with windows xp installed and all drivers including audio driver are installed, but i still cannot get any audio output directly from the internal speakers, when i checked the volume control i found that the fron/rear/subwoofer controls are freezed. so how can i get the audio output from the internal speakers ?!!

I've run into issues like this, where the audio driver is installed, but the chipset required the UAA driver/patch from MS. Check here:

Also it could be that you need the Intel HD Audio driver, if it is an Intel chipset.

Does your device show if you go to Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices?

Sounds and Audio devices

Sounds and Audio devices are shown in the device manager as i mentioned all the devices are available.
