How to ask your manager for a new desk space

by moonchild1998 . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

I joined a new company with about 130 employees. There were 20 new employees brought in together. We moved to a new location, an office of 12 to a space to seat 50. Many of the 130 travel and work from home. There are 12 office spaces around the perimeter of the spaces. In the center there is a maze of cubicles. When we moved everyone was placed into an office except me. I’m in a cubicle next to the door. There are 4 empty offices. To make it look better they didn’t want to fill all of the offices. I have a tedious job and need peace and quiet to get my work done. How should I go about asking to have one of the empty offices, even if it’s temporary. I don’t want to sound selfish, pushy or ungrateful. I am a professional, mid range salary, just new to this company.

Thanks!
M
