What FTP server are you using? The first thought is that there is a hiccup between binary/text mode or active/passive FTP mode.

Is the file corrupt as well as being too small?

i`m using a free 3CDAEMON as my ftp, installed on a HP Proliant server. i would like to configure cisco devices to send their configuration files automatically each month on a specific date! but using the archive command the time-period doesn`t work
