How To Capture Printer LPT1 Password?

By Virgoan ·
(from win2kpro pc) captures network shared printer (in winxppro pc) using this command "net use lpt1 \\pcname\hpdj810c /persistent:yes" connection is successfully done!
my problem here is whenever pc is restarted or user is trying to print out some articles via this shared printer s(he) will be prompting to enter password (i know the password=remote pc's administrator logon password; but i don't want to let user knows about it). how to eliminate this? please assist me on this. thanks a zillion.

Assuming you're behind a firewall to isolate you from the public, I'd say just set access to Everyone on the printer. This does open a bit of a gap in the security on the system you're using to share it out but there's not a whole lot that can be done via a printer, in general.

If you're worried about that then add permisisons for specific users to the rights on the printer. If you're not in a domain, simply create a user account and password for each user that accesses it which is the same as ewhat they use to log on. If you're in a domain then set them up in to a new user group and grant that group access.
