How to change Microsoft Publisher docs so iMac will recognize them

By wildhorse ·
I have documents saved on my hard drive from my old windows computer. They are Publisher docs (.pub) that my new iMac doesn't work with. Is there a way to convert them (ie- the way they are saved or anyway else) so I can download them onto my Mac? Mac will recognize .txt or .rft files, etc.

but unless we know what format you want to convert to (what program and version do you want to open them with), we can't be more specific.

Why convert at all?

You could download and install the MAC version of Open Office so you don't NEED to convert your Publisher files. It is FREE and it's supposed to be able to open and edit MS Publisher files as well as all other Office file formats. Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or higher required.

something about it looking fecal.

I don't quite get it, myself. It's like it is wearing thick leather gloves, and yes, flipping the bird. And it's like, cut off at the edge of the circle.

I think you're right.
