How to change NTs default Installation D
LockedWhen NT 4.0 is first installed, it “remembers” the location it was installed from and uses that same location when it needs to look for a driver or protocol. Is there a way to change this default installation location to a different location?
I have inherited an NT box who’s installer installed NT from a CD-ROM thereby asking me to “Insert CD-ROM” whenever it needs a driver/protocol. Sometimes it displays a dialog box where I can put in my own path but other times (w/ protocols) it asks for the CD-ROM and only gives me the incredibly flexible option of hitting the OK button.I would love to copy the i386 directory from the CD-ROM to the C: and re-direct NT to go get what it needs from there instead of having to carry around theNT CD wherever I go. Is there an INI file that I am missing? Is it possible??
Does a similar solution exist for Win98?
Many thanks!
