How to change the registered owner name?

By Ella24 ·
I want to change the name of the registered owner in windows XP on my laptop. I have already changed it in the registry, but the file paths are still using the old name. How can I change it completely without re-installing windows?

Registered owner, user account, and Full name (that appears in Welcome screen) are different.
You can change registered owner or full name but you cannot change user account.
If you want to change the profile name (user account) under Documents and Settings, create a user account you want and copy everything under current profile to the new one. You then delete the account you do not want.

You may change your account name but it will not change the profile name under Documents and Settings.

The Add Comment Button is not appearing again.

But if you go to this site

At the very bottom of the page is a Hyper Link with the words Change Owner Script zip File if you click on those words you'll be able to download a Zip file with the complete Instructions. It's a TR White Paper but at the moment I can't find it on TR so I've uploaded the Utility and Instructions to this Web Site as 1 Zip File.

I want to change the profile name (user account)under Documents and Settings. How can I actually create a new user account in there? I made a new folder (I'm sure that's not the right way) under my name and tried copying everything from the current profile to that one, but it doesn't allow me to copy everything. It also doesn't allow me to delete the old profile.
