how to check background process

Hi there , could you please tell me how to check the background processes of a system. I use Windows XP SP2.I know there is a command which one need to type in RUN then it will show you what are the background processes but I forgot the command.Any information will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Task Manager, then look at the Processes tab.

Click Start, Run and type cmd and press Enter. Type the following commands and press enter to create the text files.

tasklist > c:\tasklist.txt

tasklist /svc > c:\tasklistsvc.txt

Right click on the Clock and select Task Manager. Here you can see a list of Processes.
