How to clear red vertical lines on laptop screen?

By dbldee ·
Fairly new HP Pavilion with ATI Radeon 3200
All drivers checked, monitors working fine
Resolution change, cannot adjust refresh rates, but white spaces, now thin red vertical lines.

Suggestions appreciated

Look in the Catalyst Control Center

For the Master Video Adjustments and alter there not in the Windows Settings.

ATI Uses the Catalyst Control Center to control all Video Functions and you need to adjust things from there.

If that's not the issue I'm not really sure how you check the Monitor on a NB without plugging it into another NB and that's not the easiest thing to start with. But you can try plugging in an External Monitor and see if the fault is on it as well as the NB Monitor.

If it is the Video Card is faulty and with NoteBooks that generally means that the M'Board needs replacing. It is possible that some HP NB's have a separate Plug In Video Card and that needs replacing, However Most NB Video is built onto the M'Board.
