how to clear windows media player contentes in file menu

i am using windows XP professinal.Every day i am seeing movies in my system. i want clear my movie path from file menu.there is option in mediaplayer 9th version.But how to clear file contents in 8th version

Click start - run - type "regedit" - hit enter

Follow the directories to this location

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\RecentFileList

Here, you will see the saved info...you can manually delete them here.

You could also install the media player bonus pack from this location

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download

The bonus pack includes the ClearMRU.exe utilitie.

You could probably delete the key "RecentFileList" right out of the registry as well.

There are some good freeware apps to clean out mru lists. If you are looking for something to just clean the mru lists then MRU-Blaster is a good choice:

I prefer Disk Cleaner because it can not only cleans all of the mru lists but also all of the temporary file directories. I run it at least once a week. Here's a link:
