How to convert my PC connected with a datacard to wifi hotspot ?

I have a windows Xp PC with bluetooth and WiFi. I have a simple 2g datacard (service provider is reliance – in india). I want to connect my android mobile (android 2.2) wirelessly to my PC internet. I dont have any router.

I tried using connectify, it shows the “reliance” (service provider of the datacard) in the internet dropdown. However it shows “No WiFi Device Present” in Advanced. hence not able to start as Hotspot. Can you please help me solve my issue.

But what you need to do is run the Network Setup Wizard on the XP PC and tell the Setup Wizard that this computer connects directly th the Internet and other computers on the Network connect through it.

When prompted tell the Setup Wizard to use the Data Card as your Internet connection and the WiFi as the rest of the network.

Then after this is setup and running join the Droid tot he WiFi Network. You may need to setup an Adhoc WiFi Network on the XP PC.

which version of win xp do you have? It works only for win xp sp3 or above

I am also facing same issue, i have one Reliance data card which i want to make it as a wifi hotsptop/router,can anyone tell me how to go about this?
