how to create win7 live usb or how to install win7 on usb

By aniruddhagune ·
Hi,

I like this video. I have a question.
I am using HP laptop with 2gh Core 2 duo processor with 2 gb ram. My processor does not support Hardware Accelerated Virtulation feature which is required to run XP mode in window 7. My hard disk is of 160 gb. I want to test win7 on my laptop so I dont have enough space to install it on my laptop so just want to try it.
Is it possible to install win 7 on USB like Live CD?
OR
Pls give me any other option if this is not possible. Also I want to know how to access files on physical harddrive from virtual machine.

Thanks in advance

If you want to run Windows 7 from a Flash Drive: http://kmwoley.com/blog/?p=345
I haven't tried this procedure for Windows 7, but have for Vista and it worked. I would use the Flash Drive procedure for testing/troubleshooting only.

If you have a Virtual machine AND it is part of a network, you can simply browse the shares of any computer on the same network. Or you can map drives to the shared resources. It's almost no different than a physical/seperate computer in network behavior.

Or you can buy a larger hard drive and install Windows 7 clean. If you don't like 7, you can image your 160GB drive to the larger one. It's a good excuse to buy a new drive. Of course, there are probably other options too.
