How to Delete GPO Files ?

    Locked

    by real_shock_11 ·

i have a XP client not taking the GPO associated on the computer’s OU. i tried gpupdate /force command from my network adm account which is working on the every other 200 machines we have on site perfectly, restarted the machine but the policy still didn’t take effect. is there any to delete GPO referals on XP Clients to bulid the policy from scratch? is there is a local file which contains the GPO information which can be deleted to force the machine to apply GPO correctly?

      Hi,
Just a suggestion… Have you tried removing the PC from the domain (add to workgroup in Computer Name tab in system properties) and adding it back in? That should wipe out the GPO settings entirely, convert the PC to use the local security policy, and then once you add it back, it should get the new policy.

Let me know how it goes, I have seen similar issues and had to do this to fix the problem, maybe there is an easier way.

      Good luck.
