How to delete old lan connections?

by jjeff . Updated 22 years, 9 months ago

I have a windows 2000 laptop that I am trying to install a VPN Client on. When I try to do that, I get an error stating my Internet Connection Sharing is enabled. I check the lan connection and the dial-up connection and it is not enabled. The lan connection is labled: Local Area Connection 6. If I go and enable Internet Connection Sharing on the Dial-Up adaptor, I get a statement: Internet Connection Sharing is currently enabled for connection ‘Local Area Connection 4’

My question is how can I delete this Local Area Connection 4 which does not currently exist as a Lan Connection in my Network properties? I assume there is some place in the registry, but I need to know where to look.

Thank You.
