How to do masking?

By techless ·
We have POP3 service of our email (off site mail server) provided by our ISP ... I'd like to know if we can mask our email addresses. If yes, how do we do it?

Depends on the client being used.

For example Outlook Express you can configure the mailbox account and a reply to address which can be different.

But don't be fooled that because the address appears to be from something else that the true address can not be found. All information is kept in the RFC822 header and is readable data.

(Unless you are a spammer that is using various spamming tools that 'hide' the true origination)

I did some testing of what you are saying ... we use Outlook 98 ... and it appears to be the same. And I think the places that my user wants to access will 'fine' his real address. Thanks for the help. jk
