How to enable Hardware acceleration.?

Just changed over to Win 7,and Office 10, from XP.When we want to play the installed games it is very slow.I do not want to go in for a new video card now.How can I enable hard ware acceleration?

This depends on your M'Board but you can try this first

Update the M'Board Chip Set Drivers specifically the Accelerated Graphics Port driver within Device Manager.

Go to the makers of the M'Boards Web Site and get the newest 7 Driver for your Model M'Board.

You can also try entering the BIOS and a configuration should allow to change the AGP rate
take note of setting, and change as needed (most newer video cards go 8X-16X)
you can access your CMOS at system power-up. The way to do this is listed on the screen and involves pressing Delete. F2 or something similar.

Remember to save the changes as you exit the BIOS for them to be applied. If you do not save the changes you have just wasted your time.
