97 will open in read only mode until you change it to 2000 format. 2000 will open as per normal

Hi,

Have you tried to check the properties of the file by right-clicking on it in the Windows Explorer environment? You should be able to find details on the version and author and other details.

Hope it helps. :)

Function GetVersion() As String
GetVersion = SysCmd(acSysCmdAccessVer)
End Function

There's a shareware MS Access Version Checker at:

Hi there,
Open Access, click "Help" on the menu bar, then click "About Microsoft Access". The version number is listed there.

Good Luck,
