How to fix error STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005,0x89CBD4C9,0xBA4CEC4C,0xBA48)?

I have a hp EliteBook8530w, OS microsoft windows xp professional. After running the antivirus i restart the computer to remove an infection. Ever since it reboots every time i try to used it. i cannot get in windows safe mode. I try to repair it with bootcfg /build and does not work. Anyone has an idea of how to make it work again without formating? Thank You!!

If i understood you correctly, you can login to Windows normally, except in safe mode, you will have a blue screen with stop error.
If this is the case, the virus deleted the following key from registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot

This will prevent the computer from booting to safe mode.
The key has all need hardware info about the computer to boot it in safe mode.

If the SafeBoot key still exist in one of ControlSet00x try to export the key then import it to CurrentControlSet (edit the exported file).
If not, try repairing Windows.
