Hi endashaw,

I went through your query. I would like to know when are you getting this error and what Operating system you use (Windows XP, Vista or the latest 7)?

Any information will help me a lot to research on this issue.

Remove the HDD and refit it as starting point

You many need to change the Data Lead if this is a Desktop computer and you may also need to change the Power Supply as well.

What is happening here is that the BIOS can not find a HDD so it is spitting up this error message.

If that doesn't work remove the HDD and test it with it's Makers Testing Utility in another computer. You can download the HDD Testing Utility from here

Yes it is

But if there is no Bootable Device in the USB or Disc in the Optical Drive and the HDD has gone to Silicon Heaven then this is the message that you'll get.

Also if the HDD has somehow become disconnected from the M'Board it's what you'll be asked to fix before proceeding any further.

If you use a Boot Disc or USB Device you'll get a message that there is no HDD present.
