How to fix SAS agent registry error after removing hardware?

By mkoskenk ·
Some time ago we moved a tape backup system consisting of tape autoloader and a tape drive from server to another. Now I noticed that the old server's logs are flooded with error messages:

SAS Agent Error: Could not read the registry subkey: "CompaqStorage\SCSI\SASTapeDrv". Cause: This error can be caused by a corrupt registry or a low memory condition. Rebooting the server may correct this error.

SAS Agent Error: Could not read the registry subkey: "CompaqStorage\DriveArray\TapeLibrary". Cause: This error can be caused by a corrupt registry or a low memory condition. Rebooting the server may correct this error.

and about 20 or so similar messages with different registry subkeys. Rebooting the server does not help. Any idea how to clean this up? With 10-20 event log warnings arriving every minute it makes reading the logs a tedious job...
