My employer who seems to think I know everything, at least until it comes to pay, has given me a job of making some major changes at a doctors office as far as their internal network and their internet connection. I think the best way to do this isdescribe what they have now and then what changes need to be made.
At present they have a 64K ISDN connection connected into a 16 port LinkSys 10/100 Hub. They actually only have about 6 computers connected to that and by means of specific IP addresses, etc. they connect to a NT4 Terminal Server across town. They cannot access anything else on the internet.
Now we are bringing in a DSL service and hope to connect it by means of a DSL modem to a VPN Router, probably LinkSys model BEFVP41. The router should establish the VPN connection and allow each user to connect to the Terminal Server as well as browse the internet, have e-mail service, etc.
Now, that all sounds simple but I would like to knowa little more going into this like ?will it work?? and ?what am I missing or leaving out??. I also need to know what information I am going to need from the Terminal Server that they are connecting too?
