How to improve efficacy of ERP projects

Major resource available during an ERP project is the human resource. Tackling the softer issues within the overall project guidelines is one single factor that can make or marr a project.

Consider a situation where we have two people sitting next to each other. Both have something in common, willing to share experiences/information with other. No computer is required to facilitate this process. Consider the situation when one person is not willing to share, no computer can help in this case as well.

A computer can come in handy in a situation where both the people have something to share and are willing to share with each other but are in different locations, then the process of data/information transfer gets facilitated by using a PC.

However, when a communication breaks, the first place we look for a fault is in the computer/system/application, because that is an object that we can project our own faults to. As a result the organisation reviews the efficacy of the product deployed and decides to upgrade the same spending more money on a costlier product and resulting in a similar situation again in future.

While the real problem gets overlooked because that is best not discussed or avoided as the same does not merit discussion.

Should we not break this paradigm and move away from it and start exploring possibility of an answer in the human resource rather than deployed technology to get better results ??
