How to install Mediawiki with lighttpd on domain abc like http://abc.com/w?

By jimmy83 ·
Hi !
I want to install mediawiki on abc domain so that in web browser it comes up as http://abc.com/w. I tried a lot of codes from google howtos in the lighttpd abc.com.conf file but when i restart lighttpd it fails. Can someone plz tell how to install mediawiki with lighttpd? What line should i add to the abc.com.conf file in lighttpd so that i can see http://abc.com/w/index.php page in browser?

Thanks in advance.

Why not see the MediaWiki documentation?

by seanferd In reply to How to install Mediawiki ...

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki

Or the lighttpd docs?
http://redmine.lighttpd.net/wiki/lighttpd

Playing copypasta with google code snippets won't help unless you have some idea of how things work.

Have added the following lines to abc.com.conf file and restarted lighttpd but lighttpd is failing.
url.rewrite-once = (
"^/wiki/[sS]kins.*$" => "$0",
"^/wiki/([^\?]*)$" => "/wiki/index.php?title=$1",
