Hi,
i installed oracle 9i in my windows xp sp 2 machine . I was not sure what info to provide in various fields – like
1) service name ( it says the global database name is the service name )
2) SID security ID
3) host name and protocol etc.
I gave oradata for sec name and oracle for SID and for host name gave the name of my system.
the installation completed but I was not able logon to sql prompt. scott – tiger .
Error TNS protocol error was reported.
kindly guide me in giving the default setup vales to install oracel 9i – in a stand alone xp machine
