Clarify: is your question how to develop a project management process?

by robo_dev In reply to How to learn the software ...

That's an awfully broad question...like asking how you implement governance.

And the answer depends on what you are, have, and do.

If you do a google search on 'project management process' you get 84 million hits.

Begin to develop a project process

by TreborEcurb In reply to How to learn the software ...

1) Think about what you want to do.
2) Break it down into steps.
3) Organize the steps in to a reasonably logical order.
4) Write them down (perhaps in a checklist).
5) Attempt to develop a project using the checklist.
5) a) Note all of the adjustments you had to make to the checklist.
6) Revise your checklist.
7) Go to Step 5.

I recommend the 'peanut butter and jelly sandwich' exercise.

Write down the steps to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Give them to someone else and see if he can construct a sandwich by following your instructions. The person making the sandwich should do his or her best to MISINTERPRET the instructions as much as possible.

If possible, do this as a group exercise and swap instructions between yourselves.
