How to learn what tech used for a web ?

By me2min ·
Hi all,

How can we learn what tech used to build a website, in case extension is hidden?

For ex, it's usually a link like that: news.php?cat=1&sub=2&id=3

Now, it's turned to news.abc?cat=1&sub=2&id=3

How can I know developers use PHP or ASP or JSP...?

Thanks,

Me2min

LOook at the header of the HTML page.
If its PHP than it should like like this.
<?php

A ASP page would look like this.
<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
A JSP page like this.
<%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
This is only good if you have the the orginal file to look at.
If all you are doing is view source from Explorer, that all you will see there is the HTML portion of the file. I hope that this helps

You can possibly narrow down the list of options by checking where the site is hosted and the software being used. http://news.netcraft.com/
