How to make multiple monitor physical arrangement stay the way I set them?

By dcdfntech ·
I have 2 monitors. In the Display Properties Settings Tab I drag the monitor icons to match the physical arrangement of the monitors - when I drag the window up it displays on monitor 2. However, the position of the monitors randomly changes back to side by side. How do I make the multiple monitor physical arrangement stay the way I set them?

hi

what video card are you using? what driver version? is it a full or custom install of the drivers?
i have seen this with ATI cards, if i use the windows display properties, the ATI control panel overrides it and sets it back, i found out i had to use the ATI display driver control panel(AKA Catalyst control center (i think) CCC) to get them to stay.

Thank you, I finally had time to research this. I think my video card is too old. I have a NVIDA GeForce FXGo5200 driver date 10/26/04 diver version 6.7.4.2. I tried to update the driver but I couldn't find one. I tried using the NVIDA nView Setup Wizard but it didn't work. I think it will be easier to just reset the setting whenever it reverts. Thank you very much for the advice.
