How to recover lost files on HP m1270n after an accidental System Recovery?

Hi, I am in need of help. My 2-yr old son had pushed F10(System Recovery). I have no back-up disc for all the files that are in there. I have called HP and my warranty had expired. And they offered me the 14-days out-of warranty which I purchased (because I was convinced that their techs could help me with my problem)and when they transfered me to the tech support. The tech couldn’t help me..I called Geek Squad and told them my problem. Responded to me in a rude way that I practically lost everything. I was so desperate with the answer, so I went on google and found this site. So, please if anybody out there with a great heart. Could please tell me step by step on how to recover all of my files without spending $$$.
