How to refresh mapped drives?

By lost3232 ·
Running WnXP with a PCI 802.11b card on a client PC which connects to a wireless network. When I boot up the PC, it looks for a number of mapped drives, cannot find them, and diplays them in explorer as disconnected. However, as soon as the PC finishes finding the wireless network, all the drives should be available.

Is there any way to have XP look for the mapped drives after the wireless network has established a connection?

Shouldnt need to

You should not need to refresh manually as in XP mapped drives are dynamic and should automatically be refreshing. Do they not seem to be?

Worse case, close explorer and reopen it

I run samba on my file server in the lan network with xp being my desktop. I have currently I think 10 network drives mapped. When I reboot my samba server(which doesn't happen often) or add another mappable share on the samba server, the most I ever have to do is f5(refresh) or close and open my explorer window to see the correct status of my mounted drives and network neighborhood. Xp sees it right away.
