One of our users here at my place of work somehow was able to corrupt his pst for Outlook 2003. When he opens outlook it tells him that he does not have permissions to open the pst and then outlook abruptly closes.
I checked out his pst, went to the path where it is located, found the pst (the file size leads me to believe all the information is still in it), clicked to do well anything, and nothing. This thing is locked very well. All permissions from the pst for all users including any and all administrator users have been removed. We literally can’t do anything to it, no renaming, delete, move, etc. It does not matter what administrative user I use I cannot get into the pst. It is locked up beyond belief.
When I click the pst to check the security settings all the tabs are missing except the “General” tab. I’ve restarted the server housing the pst (we use folder redirection) and that had no effect. It was still locked with no tabs.
Can someone shed some light as to how I can go about regaining access to that pst? Even if not to get the emails but to simply just move it out of that folder so I can work on it on my own workstation.
