How to retrieve "hidden" pictures from disconnected hard drive

By rayhend ·
I had a Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop with XP that bit the dust about a year ago. I kept the hard drive and inserted it in a portable hard drive case, in case I needed to access files from it, which I've done from time to time.

Recently, I remembered I had some "hidden" pictures on it, but when I go to the location, and try to open the files, I get a message that says I don't have permission to open them. I can see the ("greyed" out) icons for the photos but just can't open any of them, even if I try to remove the "hidden" designaton from them.

Anyone know how I'd be able to open these files?

Thanks in advance.

Copy them over to your internal hdd

And then try again with the permission part.
