How to run a DOS application under W2K

By oscar.packeer ·
Most of the PC's in my shop run Win95 & log in to a Netware server in order to run an application. This is achieved through either a DOS shell OR an icon on the desktop which executes the program. I recently accquired a W2K machine & am unable to runthis DOS application under this environment, any suggestions or ideas?

WIN2K with DOS backup compatibility

by shuja52 In reply to How to run a DOS applicat ...

Earlier version of WINDOWS i.e 95,98, NT supported DOS and even sometimes slave of DOS, but WIN2K WINME has been equipped with DOS for only bachup compatibility. So it is not so this OS is not powerful under WIN2K.

Though u can access the DOS Prompt via C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\COMMNAD or browse this in run menu

DOS IN W2K

by howard In reply to How to run a DOS applicat ...

I HAVE SEVERAL APPS RUNNING IN DOS ON W2K SYSTEMS.
EDIT THE CONFIG.NT FILE IN WINNT\SYSTEM32 FOR
THE APP YOU WANT TO RUN.
TELL ME DETAILS OF THE APP. IF IT RUNS EXTENDED DOS IN A DWG4 WINDOW DON'T BOTHER.
OTHER APPS DO WORK.
