    How to set “rules” for metadate for per

    I am working on implementing Personalizaton. I have been told to tell technology what items the metadata would need to contain so that clickstream analysis of visitors can be done. How do I go about this ? I don’t want to just have tagged contentbut be able to group content in to groups that will help in dynamic personaliztion of content on the site.

      Dynamic Personalization tends to be extremely difficult to implement from a metadata model, precisely because of the need for a pre-built ontology (a naming convention for the interactions between person, group, personal content included and group content excluded). While you could develop an ontology that could provide the major components of the physical metadata model, the time taken to review enough content-person interactions could be prohibitive.

      I would suggest a mult-perspective modeling approach, designed to get a group of people interested in supporting the following analysis topics:

      visitor profiling and analysis
      data mining of the prime database
      personal content questionnaires
      group content definition workshops
      content dynamics & theming
      dynamics authoring matrix and admin issues

      Basically, I don’t think one person can provide “all of the rules” up-front, for a dynamic personalization engine. A group of enthusiastic people, on the other hand, should be ableto own these chunks of model, and bring them together into a dynamic personalization whole. Best of luck!
