How to setup a home FTP site on Windows Server 2003 SP2 and D-Link router

by mark_its . Updated 15 years, 5 months ago

I have a home server running W2K3 SP2 with FTP server installed. I’ve configured it with the statis IP address on my home network. I’ve configured my home router to pass FTP traffic to that FTP server. When I try to connect to the FTP server from a remote computer, my laptop using a broadband card and not on my home network, I get an error indicating I don’t have permission to open the FTP folder. I’ve given Everyone rights on the FTPROOT folder, but no help there. I’m using MS Windows Explorer to connect to FTP server.

Does anyone have any ideas?
