Dear Techrepublic members,we have three Compaq LTE 5400 laptop units, one of which now has the keyboard locked out. Accessing the information on the harddrive is not a problem because the harddrive just slides out and into the other units, but now we have a unit that we can’t use. We removed what we believe to be the bios battery (located on the bottom side of the computer, 4.8v) but still were unsuccessful. A Compaq tech informed us that the units were so old that they no longer had manuals for them. But, we have been able to install dual OS’s –
Win98 and Redhat 6.1 with no problems. The down unit has Win98 and NT4.0 Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.
