Is it possible to upgrade W2K Professional -> W2K Server without doing a complete re-installation?

In any formal Microsoft sense: no, absolutely not.
However with NT, the difference between the two in technical sense was so small (registry settings) that a 'hack' could do it; afterwards the now-server-machine could be enriched with a NT Server CD.
Might be worthwile researching this also for W2K, at least when you're not worried about formal MS support.

At your service,
