How TSClient access multi-W2K srv's?

By wil ·
I have multiple W2K servers each with Terminal Services Remote Admin installed and enabled. How can I connect from my home PC to Administer any of these server? I specify the IP address of the NIC that is connected to the ADSL line, but how do I gain access to the other servers in the network? Do I need to establish a VPN connection to each?

A very simple method would be to use the server exposed to the Internet as a gateway. Install the TS client on the server, connect to the server from home, and point the server's TS client to your internal servers.

While that is a good suggestion, it does not accomplish the security controls I desire. I want each admin to control his/her own server on their own domain, but not have access/control of the ISA (gateway) server.

Each server must be available on the internet for you to access them individually, or use VPN. I like to raise my resolution, terminal into one, and from that one terminal into the other.

One cool tool you can install on your Terminal Server is the "terminal server advanced client"

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/TSAC/default.asp

It allows you to connect to your server from any machine by using IE and inputing http://ServerAddressOrName/tsweb.

Good Luck.

Two good suggestions. I will try to implement VPN access as well as incorporate the browser interface.
