HP 3600 Color LaserJet re-initializing all the time

I have an HP 3600 Color LaserJet and on start up after calculting the memory size it shows ‘Initializing…’ on the display, then later ‘Wait for printer to reinitialize’ it then restars the process of getting the memory size. I have tried to remove the catridges and switch it on without the catridges so that it can prompt, no catridges found. But this seems not to be working as the same error still appears.

An oldie but a goodie, remove the memory and put it right back in. Sometimes wiggling it helps.
