HP 4250 problems

By SPC_TCOL ·
I have some problems with one of my printers.
When you print an Access document, then it has 4mm wide horizontal lines on the paper. Between 7 and 8 on each paper.
Test page as well as a word doc. came out fine.
Never saw this before, does anybody has an idea?
On a different printer, same model we have no problems.

What are you using for a driver?

standart

I am using the standard driver for server 2003 or xp, that comes from the HP homepage.
But we didn't do any changes on the drivers, computers or printers.
And the same computer can printer on a similar printer and has no problems.

toner

by SPC_TCOL In reply to hmm sounds like Fuser nee ...

We thought it can't be the toner, because word doc. are printed normal.
But i gave it a try and exchanged it with the toner from the same printer next to it.
And sure enough it moved.

I should have done this in the first place.

Thanks for the idea.

Nice call

Not the first thing I would have considered because it was application specific. The 4250, I believe, uses a smart-cartridge. Was this failed one from HP or a refilled cartridge? The smart-cartridges that are refilled give some strange results if the vendor didn't reset them.
