    HP 6L printing problem

    Locked

    by llifan ·

I have a Hp 6L printer with WINME system, it works well only when I use ACDsee program to print .jpeg file. It looks file has been sent to the printer, because spool is gone, and pop up said print sucessfully, but nothing could print out, even the 3rd light on printer does not flash. I tried to install ACDsee on WIN2000, it works but when printing .jpeg, appears very slow. I am not sure if the memory of printer is too low or resolution of picture is too high?

Try lowering resolution in printer settings to 300 x 300 dpi or 150 x 150 dpi and see if that helps.

Default memory on 6L is, I believe, 3MB which is definitely not sufficient for large high-res graphics.

Have you given the job ample time before aborting? Full page of high resolution graphics may take a loooong time to print (10 minutes or more). If too high and insufficient memory, may not ever print since printer can’t resolve image.
Although I would expect at least a partial image to eventually print.

Thank you very much. It is truely the resolution problem, when I set resolution to 200dpi,it prints out. One more question, how to find out how much memory the printer has, is there anyway to upgrade it? I appreciate you help.
