HP & Bluetooth

By rayk ·
I have a new Officejet 7310 and bought and HP Bluetooth adapter for it. I have a D-Link Bluetooth adapter on my laptop. If I go to "View My Bluetooth Devices" I can see the HP Officejet...then, I tell it to Add the Printer. It then prompts me for the install CD or for the inf file. I do have the CD, but it can't find the proper inf file. I'm not sure how to resolve this. I just need to install the driver to get the printer going. When I pop in the install CD and go through the install procedure, it allows me to detect wired or network enabled HP Printers...but says nothing about bluetooth. Thanks in advance.

Resolution?

Hello Ray (and world)!

Were you able to get the Office Jet to work with the HP bluetooth adapter? Are you referring to the HP BT450 for USB? I have just bought an Office Jet 4315 with the expectation of using the bluetooth Wireless USB platform to print, but read that many people are having problems and HP only supports a few PhotoSmart printers.

Will it work with any of the LaserJet series printers? How about other OfficeJet or DeskJet printers?

If not, can you recommend an alternative wireless printing solution (other than buying a wifi print server)?

Thanks!
